I suggest E Nomine.

Truely a unique band.  Many of their songs totally own.  Das Omen, Mitternacht, Das Tier in Mir, Vater Unser Part I and II, and I have a sweet mix of Schwarze Sonne that rocks the house.

i believe the term is 'long time listener, first time caller'... hello! this is a lovely radio station you have here, mr shirow, sir. thankee muchly for helping me through exam season.

as for the requests... i dunno if you have it already, but combichrist's "das der bunker", off the second das bunker compilation, is a personal favourite of mine. also, i agree with above, some MDFMK would be nice if you could, mebbe 'control'... and (this one's a long shot - might be a bit too 'grrr' for the lovely ebm happiness here) maybe some hanzel und gretyl?

well, i feel cheeky, bursting onto your nice clean forums and making demands of you... i'll go now  :D

ooh, i had a listen to this, there's a fair bit of good stuff there... but occasionally, and this is just my opinion, your layers don't seem to quite fit together fully... eg. "Queen Panic", when the squelchy noises come in at about 8secs, they don't merge properly with the beat that's already there, and it sounds a little messy... :?

but other than that, i'm impressed... can i be a bit rude and ask what you used to make 'em? :)

How about some Britney, or Aguilera. Or even better, the pre-hair cut Michael Bolton ?! Haha :)

Nah, seriously, I would enjoy some older stuff played. I just reviewed some old music I have of bands like Neon Judgement, The Young Gods, Die Krupps, Revolting Cocks, Poésie Noire etc and would love to hear much such as this. DG plays a lot of new music and I've found a lot of new bands to listen to through DG. But, it's also quite nice to rediscover good music that you'd forgotten you liked once. Also makes you recognize a lot of influences in contemporary music. DG just played Cesium 137 - The Storm and to me it just sounds like Human League. Anyhow, I'm not suggesting that mixing the content even more might be a good way, but I do think a lot of listeners would enjoy "themes" once in a while. E.g. play a certain type of music every other Friday. Just my $0.02.

I just recently found this style of music and when I did I immediately fell in love with it. It was exactly what I had been searching for for many many years and could never find. Some stuff I've heard recently that I haven't found in the music database here is:
Ozzma <-- This is the one I would most suggest.
compuwhore "Sick Bitch"
UnterArt
Mirrorman
Great site, great station. Love the rework. And the database search feature is awesome.

Would it be too far of a leap to suggest some IDM in the vein of Aphex Twin and Venetian Snares? Or is that not the direction you intend to take the station? They're all over the place, Come To Daddy by AFX is definitely dark and angry enough to get on here. Quick change of pace never hurt anybody.

Now, I don't know anything about whether or not the labels are with the RIAA, but I haven't heard any Zeromancer or Wolfsheim on here. I'm not necessarily sure they would fit in with the other music you play, but I've always thought they were awesome. :D

I'm normally into harsher and heavier bands but might I suggest:

Fairlight Children (Apop sideproject)
and something by ComputorGirl - seeing as it's near impossible to get hold of a proper copy of the ComputorGirl EP.

Other Suggestions include:
Echo Image
Goteki - (sadly now parted ways but excellent - try Goteki O/S album)
and a personal favourite - Deathboy (from the uk, he has his entire back catalogue up online - only got a band together around four years ago but was releasing stuff through mp3.com when it used to be free - checkout www.deathboy.co.uk  -  i have nothing to do with this band and haven't even seen them live but the music has helped me through a lot of rough patches, and his style varies)

Some Leather Strip would be cool, the classic 'Adrenalin Rush' or maybe 'Suicide Bomber', basically anything Claus performs would be good.

VNV, Mesh, 242, Numan, Rotersand, Panzer AG, Wolfsheim. All good stuff

Rammstein & Eisbrecher are very difficult. But they are weare cool clothses !!!
i saw Eisbrechecher on AMPHI Festival in Cologne. The Music ....... *suckz*

i assume you mean "different" (verschieden) and not "difficult" (schwierig) ?
a really good online german-english dictionary is on leo.org (;

the one thing i can admit to is that rammstein make cool music videos (although i have not seen the eisbrecher ones yet)

still i wont budge much that the two bands are similar and rammstein can kiss my ass with their we-are-the-mean-arian-hardass-wannabe-guys-with-lots-of-distorted-guitars-and-pyro-shows

Rammstein do have very cool videos, Rosenrot being about the best I have seen. What little I've seen/heard of their live shows sounds totally ridiculous/stupid/ {insert adjective here} and really a total waste. For a band to have such good lyrics, why do they make their live shows so.....___________?

Anyway, I've not heard of the band you mentioned, Creepster.

Is Deathline Int'l not the right format for here? Some songs might be. What about Out Out? Numb? Unit 187? Some Penal Colony like 3rd Life and Freemasons off of 5 Man Job? just off the top of my head and i know they are older, but i'm not up on real current and obscure stuff. Not really a social scener, so i get alot of my new tastes from here. Oh and i thank you infinitely for having Pulse Legion on here, though i would like to hear Despair and Faith in Sin maybe? and some selections from the first album?

that's how i even got into them at all

Forgive me if i name things already suggested, but i really lack the patience of going through and looking at every band mentioned. And to Shirow I apologize if you already play these.. CUT

Panzer AG, Pride and Fall, Tacktical Sekt, Psyclon Nine, SeaBound, Hocico, November Process, Decoded Feedback, God Module, Grendel, Covenant, Velvet Acid Christ, Skinny Puppy, Rottersand, Front 242, Suicide Commando, Combichrist, Icon of Coil, Stromkern, Soman, Imperative Reaction, A23

i LEFT the bands which are already being played
from what i have deleted, some of those bands are RIAA affiliated so they will NOT be played

i did not have much patience to go through your list myself but i did it anyway, maybe YOU should bring up some patience as well instead of just randomly mentioning bands which are either being played already or wont ever be since they are not going along with the *theme* of DG

Forgive me if i name things already suggested,...

I've checked to make certain that these bands are not RIAA affiliated and are not currently present in the database:

Dulce Liquido - "Disolucion" from album of same name

Dupont - "Money","Sugar Honey","Solid Life" all on the Ukraina album (you have songs from the later, unfortunately inferior Intermezzo album. Ukrania is good Neu-EBM)

Aesthetic Perfection - "I Belong to You", "Surface", "Fix", "Sacrifice", "Architect", "Coward" from Close to Human album and highly recommend "Living the Wasted Life" off the Machineries of Joy Volume 4 Compilation. (Bonus: there are good Accessory, Agonoize, Amduscia, Hocico and Necessary Response songs on this compilation too!)

Reaper - "Urnensand", "Twisted Trophy Hunter (with Mark Jackson of VnV)" and "Execution of Your Mind" from Hell Starts With an H album

Just a few suggestions for now. I'll think about more and post them later. ANY addition of new material will mean less likelihood of having to suffer through more Cruciform Injection though. :(

Great, glad to hear it! I hope you likee.

I have a pretty broad tastes (or is that tastes in pretty broads? ;D ) but having listened to EBM/Industrial for decades I tend to gravitate towards the newer more innovative sounds. Mostly enjoying Aggrotech now (I HATE the term 'Hellektro' or 'TerrorEBM', please help me kill it!), but enjoy the old gems now and then (XMtP, Front242, NitzerEbb, OrangeSector) so wouldn't mind more representation of them.

Thought of another band you might want to check out/add:

Eden Synthetic Corps (E.S.C.) on the Dark Dimensions label. (Already checked, they're not RIAA affiliated nor currently present in the database.) Their first album MATTE is aces and would make a nice addition. Particularly recommend the tracks "Steam", "Matte", "Royalty", and their cover of the Kraftwerk song "The Robots". Distorted vocals but interpretable, and good beats, layers and momentum.

Additional:

I'm a little perplexed at some of the songs from groups/albums in the database. The songs I would expect to be featured from an album are the ones that AREN'T there. Perhaps this is an effort to familiarize people with songs from an album other than the ones they always hear in the clubs?

Case in point Android Lust - "The Want" from the same EP. Other tracks are there but not the main title song? I love that song and would love to hear it in rotation.

Also Informatik - "Watching You Watching Me" from Syntax and "A Matter of Time" from Nymphomatik (my favoritist Informatik song). I'd be pleasantly surprised to have these come up on the playlist.

Aside from that I like what I hear. You have a nice diverse collection and I'm glad that I stumbled upon your site. Maybe if you approved my MySpace friends request I could turn more people on to your site? ;) lolz!

Suggested Music: How about some LadyParasyte

http://www.myspace.com/ladyparasyte

The tracks 'Salvage', 'Sirens', and 'The Decadence' are a nice fit for DG.  EBM with female vocals.
Title: Re: Suggest some music!

EBM: An acronym for Electronic Body Music, a style of "industrial" dance music typified by synthesizer driven tracks, to 4/4 time beats, the occasional cowbell on percussion (more cowbell Richard23!), lead pads sometimes reminiscent of middle eastern themes, and harsh Germanic sounding shouted lyrics.

Other people have defined EBM as "the sound of angry Belgians beating up a working washing machine".

Probably the most famous examples of EBM acts would be Front242 ("Headhunter"), NitzerEbb ("Join in the Chant") and Armageddon Dildos ("East West").

LadyParasyte would not fit the definition of "EBM".

Some people might also make the argument that LadyParasyte would not fit the definition of "good".

Wouldn't say Armageddon Dildos are really famous nowadays... speaking of which, the track "Sex Monster" is uber and should be added...

Fair play mate.  No need to dole out the EBM lesson, I've been buying 242 and NitzerEbb since 1988, I "think" I've got a handle on it.  But I will agree with you: EBM isn't the first thing that comes to mind when attempting to categorize her music, but I thought "Decadence", at a minimum, would fit the bill.  Besides, DG plays much more than just EBM, hence a "suggestion" thread.

I can also appreciate that you don't like the tracks, again, just a suggestion. DG has a lot of great tracks in its catalogue, I also find some to be redundantly derivative.  No worries though, DG is by far and large an awesome stream and I'd be lost without it.

At any rate, I'd then suggest some Tribantura, Signal Aout42, or older Talla 2XLC.  Yeah, I'm partial towards the older EBM before all the Trancey sounds invaded the genre. :D

The new Red Cell album is like made for DG.... Just steer clear of the songs with the most repetive lyrics
(I can't stand songs where they don't have lyrics enough for the entire song and just repeat the same
phrase over and over)

Also, Stray - Abuse by Proxy is really nice... (it's a side project of UnterNull, but a bit different)

The "Stripped" cover by Rammstein is pretty cool actually. And I actually think Rammstein is pretty ok to listen to, and e.g. Eisbrecher (which is on on the DG play list) sounds anyway more or less like Rammstein to me :)

Title: PUR PALE

Pur Pale: Biography
Written by: Ryan ‘Tweak” Clark
01.29.08

We came from a background of obsession, we became the obsessed, every moment and chance we grew and understood the language and art of music and musical interpretation to creation.

Everyone we knew were always the types of people who would skip school or work to be the first in line for that amazing band that we all desperately needed to go see and experience. Everyone we knew were the first ones in line to purchase our favourite bands brand new album. Then everyone we knew all gathered around our stereos turned out all the lights, light our candles, closed our eyes and experienced that album for the very first time. The first listen was always the most serious and analytical by the 5th-7th listen we would already be figuring out the processes, structure’s and instrumentation's within those albums. Basically every little detail about the music was analyzed and interpreted. Running our stereos through eq systems to pump or reduce frequencies to magnify small details within the music itself, we would reverse the music and fast forward to find secrets about that album which the engineers and artists always loved to throw into that final master mix. It was these details that we took out of the music which began manifesting Pur Pale into what it has become today musically. But it was through my own interpretation of life's experiences that created the artistic backbone. Through all the self inflected abuse, lieing, selfishness, violence, suicides, drug abuse, non-believer of spirituality or god for lack of physical proof and everything that was The Negative within my own personal past aggravations of life I found the truth within all of these topics.

Pur Pale is the representation of a sterile mind "pur" meaning Pure and "Pale" meaning white (Pur White). Similar to that time when you couldn't stop your eyes from un-focusing on that one little section of that wall, sucking yourself into a spacey trance of sterile numbness but yet utter comfortably and trust. Talking about topics and issues in which people tend to find uncomfortable, humiliating, terrifying or even things in which people find hard to express in fear of negative critism and judgment. Pur Pale is here to become a part of all our relative natures, we are here for one another to guide as a community of growth and understanding over our independent personal selves in order to better understand the world around us in order to obtain that selfless humanity, We analyze, interpret and communicate from every point of view in all contrasts from every angle.

We start each project with an independent purpose or topic of emotional relativity in which manifests itself from within our daily environments. By the end of the project we have turned that independent purpose of emotional relativity into a globalized feeling but never understanding of the topic itself. Our art is here in order to stimulate and relate to each individual listener in unique way. There is a personal message behind each song but what I find to be the most powerful is to find that relative message within yourself in order to better understand yourself or to obtain that relational experience from an outsider’s perspective of understanding.

"Everything is an influence around us it's what we actually take in and make ours that lets us create what we tend to create."

"Art is not only a way of expression but it's the evolution of structure and detail."

Is this spam or a music suggestion?

whatever it is i got bored reading it after the first paragraph and cursing after the second
it is not a suggestion since there was no direct approach to being played on dg so i consider it spam

i feel violated reading through the whole thing, i hope the english teacher gave them a D-

coffee does sound great right about now

I see you have Live Wired by FLA, why don't you have the track Neologic Spasm? It's pretty kick ass and is less minimal than some of the stuff on that album.

And the album 'Unsocial Themes' by E-Craft. (Lied Tier kicks ass) According to RIAA radar (Great site) it's safe.

Transistor Generation - 080922

Kender is really getting good at making music... all the latest songs has been great for the first 1 1/2 minute (and then a bit repetive, needs to be completed in other words :) - but this song is great all the way through its 4:40 minutes. Gets a double thumbs up from me :)

http://www.last.fm/music/Transistor+Generation/_/080922.b?autostart

EDIT: Changed the link, hopefully Kender won't have more fun with it :)
Title: Re: Suggest some music!
Post by: reverseinversion on September 23, 2008, 05:09:29 PM
Alien Produkt should be added to the DG list. Good band, RIAA safe.

Full tracks can be heard: http://www.last.fm/music/Alien+Produkt

I recommend 'New Concentration Camps', 'City of Fakes', 'Involution' and 'Artificial Intelligence' as individual tracks, but I'd say anything from their two albums would feel at home on the DG playlist. :)

They remind me of something older God Module/Newer Hocico-ish with a slight E-Craft sound to them.

EDIT: Oh and I liked what I heard from Transistor Generation, it sounded like FLAs more modern and minimalistic stuff.

I'll agree with some of the other posts about needing Laibach & Funker Vogt; for instance ,"Tanz mit Laibach", "Geburt einer Nation" even though it probably wouldn't fit too well on the site, finishing Funker Vogt's Navigator with "Starfighers" and "Vorwarts!".

I'm missing quite a "big" name - Amduscia, I even see C-lekktor in the request lists (Which is a far more unknown mexican aggrotech band), so it's quite surprising that one is missing. Something with artist rights ?

Anyway, there's some really great fan made remixes at remix.nin.com. They tend to
be a bit too mellow for DG though, but "search by attributes" let you find mixes
that might fit... for instance "BURN (You Stupid B1tch)" by Tweakerray.

I'm not sure this fits, but a band called "War Tapes" opened for the VNV show last night. They're more rock-y than the average artist on DG, but I liked their show a fair amount. Would owe you one if you listened to a couple of their songs and decided if they were worthy, Shirow

War Tapes sounds like the Killers, sans syntehesizers. But slooooooooooooow. Hammy frontman's gotta turn it down a notch. "Air Filled Romance" off of The Continental Divide captures a sense of tension and unease that is pretty damned effective. Tragic title for a song, though... I can't help thinking of blow-up dolls. ;)

I would like to listen tracks from "Unterart", it`s really good.

Unterart's alright. Memento is well produced, a lot of it sounds like cartoonish vampire music, which is not a bad thing. Everything seems to click on Pariah, which has a funky rythm and deftly assigned staccato syths, under growly, gravely vocals. Atrophied sounds A LOT like Playing the Angel era Depeche Mode, and they capture a real mellow, real creepy vibe on it.

New 16volt (American Burn Songs) is excellent. Sounds like what Filter should have evolved into. Hard, hammering industrial rock with elevating harmonies evoking green-filtered Witkowski-esque action sequences. Probably too much rock here for DG playlist, predictable ABACA structure, and the guitar work heads dangerously into Ozzy territory on tracks like (09)The Lord Doesn't Want Her and (08) Blackbird. Some late-90s numetal on (13) Useless People.

Among the 15 (15!) tracks

01 Alkali
03 With Fire and Burning
07 It All Turns Bad

are particularly epic, but there's not a track on there that doesn't sound carefully wrought, buffed, and polished. Closing track (15) American Bomb Songs is damned kinky and would make one of the best FPS menu loops ever.

Hi! I have noticed that some of you had already requested Laibach. I join the club- it's a pity that there's no Laibach to be heard here. I recommend the following albums of Laibach:
WAT (2004), Volk (2006), Jesus Christ Superstar (1996); NATO (1994), Opus Dei (1987). If you are interested in hearing them live, they are touring with Juno Reactor recently.

The other interesting band I'd like to reccomend (one of the inventors of EBM) is the Slovenian group Borghesia. I also like them very much.

When speaking about Slovenians, I also recommend one great complilation album called Trans Slovenia Express where many bands play their Kraftwerk covers (Laibach and Borghesia included).

More bands I think you could add to your archive:

Asphyxia
Hexen prozess
Decoded Feedback (awesome, I reccommend last 2-3 albums)
Dulce Liquido (Hocico's side project)
Jesus Complex
Retrosick
Rotersand

What about the Rabid Whole? They're a pretty cool new band from Canada and I think they'd fit right in with your playlist.

iVardensphere's pretty cool too.

And how come there's now Landscape Body Machine?

Just a small suggestion why not add the Tactical Sekt - "Syncope" 2006 album and FGFC820 Urban Audio Warfare Album? Also if your going to add Die Sektor. Then please include their demo "Scraping the Flesh" - 2004 album it's quite epic sounding or at least I like it.
Another interesting fact about Die Sektor if your just curious to know. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhkS9FcIABw&feature=related (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhkS9FcIABw&feature=related)
In the info it reads: *Die Sektor's "Electronic Saviour" This song is generally unreleased as it was not featured in either Scraping the Flesh (Demo) or To Be Fed Upon. It was created under the label Atrocita, before Die Sektor changed it's name.*

So yeah, I tried to google "Atrocita" and with no luck I couldn't find any albums being sold by that name. However If anyone else can find the group or their album your in luck. I would diffinitly like to hear about it. :)

i'll make mine simple then....any chance of getting Burning/Dancing off of Faderhead's FH! added to the list? i love the whole album but that one might possibly be y favorite on the album. It's definitely the hardest song on the album, but not, methinks, too hard for DG by far. Pleeeeease....   =)

Sorry to be yet another throwing gasoline on this flame... But here’s yet another suggestion.

I like a lot of the newer guitar-driven industrial that gets played here (seems to be a little bit of renaissance going on with it in recent years) and was thinking it might be nice to hear some of the earlier bands from back in the day: Chemlab, 16 Volt, Acumen nation,  etc. I think would be pretty swell.

I like almost everything that gets played on here anyway, and there are a lot of great suggestions in this thread, so no big deal if it doesn't make the cut.

We can't either - leading to duplicate suggestions and such - so if you make a system for it, it would be nice if it addresses that too :) - something like having a view of the music database that also includes suggestions and the possibility to vote would be nice...

Anyway, check out Analogue Brain (http://www.myspace.com/analoguebrain)... an old project, but just discovered it now... pretty good

Since a lot of bands I can think of have been suggested (or already have some songs in the database), I'll suggest my favourites:
Angelspit - Sleep Now, As It Is In Heaven, Wolf, Infect, Vena Cava.
I:Scintilla: Taken, Salt of Stones, Machine Vision.

How about Left Spine Down's newest remix album, "Smartbomb 2.3"?

I swear I'm not just saying that because I did one of the remixes... there's a lot of cool versions on there.

Also, much as I love the tracks you have up from ohGr's "Devils In My Details," how about some stuff from Welt and SunnyPsyOp? Also his new song "Collidoskope" kicks ass and he just released a fan remix album for free, I hear there's some killer versions on it.

Anyway, just wanted to throw those out there. Love this site, I listen to it almost every day!

Methinks we should have something that when one joins DG they have to read and 'sign off' on something akin to saying they have read and acknowledge the rules-n-regs, especially where RIAA and this thread are concerned. Could save a lot of wasted time. Other than that, we just have to show patience (or we don't) and help along..

i will say that RIAA's site hasn't been treating me well lately... can't get shite for affiliated bands out of it lately...anyone else or just me and my shite isolated connection?

Anyway, as always...just sayin...

having people read and "sign off" some policies wont work
i mean, how often did i click "accept" when installing programs without ever bothering reading through all the disclaimer
pretty sure that's the most common behavior and therefore wont guarantee that RIAA affiliated bands wont be mentioned again anymore

also does not help that this thread spans 25 pages and nobody will read through all posts since not all of them contain music suggestions but branch into side topics (q.e.d.)
the best solution would be a sticky, locked, single post thread where shirow lists all suggested bands alphabetically and modifies the post each time a new band is mentioned

it would be even more detailed if behind each band is a short description as to whether the band is already in the DG music database, RIAA affiliated, are not yet integrated or no material is available

well ... too bad
buy the cd and listen to it when ever you want?

the chances a specific song you WANT to hear playing on DG WHILST listening at THIS particular moment are slim enough not to bother wanting specific songs in the music database, thus played

i am not shedding a tear if specific songs of any particular band are not in the database
as shirow mentioned before, not complete albums are represented but individually picked songs (i am not sure if that's also done to optimize the use of storage space ... those mp3s have to come from somewhere and the more selective you are the broader the variety of bands you can offer)

i won one of their cd "you're on the naughty list" in one of the past monthly subscriber draws and just started to like them listening to it for the third and fourth time (now it is a constantly on when i do cell culture work)
by now i love the songs "you're fucking it up" and "sugar & spice"

that's why i have not suggested them to shirow, because i thought he would put them into the database if he thought it being valuable
they are not necessarily bringing a new sound to the whole genre but are very catchy if you like a specific sound

funny enough on RIAA:radar there's 4 published "too dark park" albums, two from riaa affiliated labels (capitol, indent series)  and twice from a supposedly "safe" label (nettwerk records)

I never hear anything by Dekoy or Encoder in the past week I have been listening to Digital Gunfire.

I love both bands, met them on MySpace. Dekoy, after two albums, are no longer around. But I do own both albums by then, and do love their sound.

Encoder, same thing, I have their last two albums but they are still around, and they too have a great sound.

Both artists frequent my sets and I think they will do just fine here on Digital Gunfire.

Edit to add:

OMG You don't even have any Voltaire!!!! You need to get some Voltaire on here.

The original is great, I wasn't too fond of the remixes of this song though.

Introducing Hybrid Pop - the NEW face and sound of Electronic Pop Music

December 15, 2009 (Rochester, New York) - Rochester, New York based Electronic Pop band Silent Auction has released their newest CD entitled "Good Girl Remix EP" on December 15.
This release has six tracks, three of which are original and self produced Silent Auction songs and the remaining three are, as the title suggests, colorful and unique remixes of the title track. All six tracks joined on one disc create a landscape of energy and sound, combining the fierce pulse of an underground electronic dance club with the crisp lyrics and catchy hooks of the new generation of pop music. Although this is the band's sixth self-released album, it reflects a solid new direction into modern Electronic Pop.

This new release marks a huge step for us as writers and performers says Terri Snyder, who is co-writer, co-producer and female vocals for Silent Auction. We're showing everyone that we're not afraid to take risks. We've accepted our personal challenge to break the obvious barrier between underground/industrial and pop music. We're fans of both and this EP shows it."
Jason, founding member of Silent Auction and the other co-writer, co-producer and male vocals adds, "Our passion for heavy synthetic sounds, percussive details and colorful melodies has really brought us together in our writing styles. Terri and I are collaborating now more than ever! It's so exciting." With a chuckle he adds, "I guess you could call it 'Hybrid Pop'.
The "Good Girl Remix EP" is now available on most digital download sites, including iTunes, Amazon, and Napster. Having only been available for promotional use for two weeks, it has already been requested by DJs across the United States. The band's website, www.silentpro.com, is experiencing the highest traffic count it has ever seen. Releasing this EP on their own has become a journey through local talent (album cover illustration, marketing strategies), self-taught mixing and mastering, and cost effective merchandising (screen printing their own t-shirts).

Voted by the general public as one of Rochester's top four original bands in 2009, Silent Auction is certainly breaking out of its previous underground shell. The band is compromised of Jason Barbero, Terri Snyder, and drummer Brendan Bulson. They are currently preparing their live performance to adjust to this release and their upcoming full length album, due to be released in the Spring/Summer of 2010. Also, Silent Auction's song "Deliverance" will be on the upcoming "Electronic Saviors: Industrial Music to Cure Cancer" release under Metropolis Records, due out February 9, 2010.  This five CD benefit compilation features 83 of the world's leading Electronic/Industrial artists joining forces to raise money for cancer research. Silent Auction was invited to donate a hopeful song for this compilation.

I thought I'd chime up with a band suggestion:

T.H.D. (Total Harmonic Distortion)

Most notable songs:  Matrix, Cyberchrist and Hypo on the "Mechanical Advantage" album.  They were on Hard records and Cleopatra but I'm not sure if they have regained full control again.

From what I understand their latest material is currently unsigned.

Last contact I have is http://www.myspace.com/totalharmonicdistortionthd

Finally, as always, keep up the high quality programming.

I went to the A23 show last night. One of the opening bands is Angel Theory (http://www.angeltheory.com/). They put on a decent live show. I listened to some of their stuff on myspace (http://www.myspace.com/industrialedge) and it is a little more ... tame? Worth checking them out, I think.

Also, another group that I happen to be a big fan of is CTRL (http://www.ctrlmusic.com/), they have a new album out - Lost in Static. I think there are at least a few tracks on there worth looking at. Assemblage 23 did a remix of the title track "Lost in Static" that was released on a 2008 single that I think is pretty good too (Has A23 ever done a bad remix?) as did XP8.

I accidentally stumbled upon this band named Midnight Resistance, that I think is really good.
It's fast trancy synthpop (in the style of Celsium 137) - it's a call of judgement if it fits DG or
not, but nontheless it's really good :)

http://www.myspace.com/themidnightresistance

The shitty thing which I just noticed now is that it's published through Sony :/

Also, Chris Pool has made a BlutEngel album that isn't a BlutEngel album, named "Behind the Mirror".
Mostly instrumental, more industrial sounding, and the little vocal's that are there are not the regular BlutEngel vocals... recommend you check it out...  (most songs might be a bit too calm though)
(if I heard the songs without knowing, there's no way in hell I would suspect it was BlutEngel)

My random searches turned up a group called "Dissonance" which isn't in DG's database.

Have a listen to the album Dissonance by the artist "Dissonance". The track "Fade" is my favorite but there are several I like quite a bit.

Great female vocalists; no growly lyrics here! I really like their sound since I like complex arrangements.

I already like Collide, Kidney Thieves, Aiboforcen, and SD6 for female vocalists; any more suggestions for female vocalists in this genre?

edit: Dissonance web page (http://www.hakatak.com/artists/dissonance/) at Hakatak.

Indeed, as well as several of the others i initially listed, however i was simply trying to answer the poster's specific question:

I already like Collide, Kidney Thieves, Aiboforcen, and SD6 for female vocalists; any more suggestions for female vocalists in this genre?

i must have forgotten that he had already mentioned Aiboforcen. i was just trying to 'suggest' some similar genre artists. Whether new or old, played on DG or not didn't seem relevant to me because how am i supposed to know who he's heard of and not. Then i decided that as much as i love the genres played on DG there are other female vocal-driven music styles that i like as well, so why might not someone else as well. So i threw some more names out that might be of interest to someone that's never heard of them.

Sure i strayed from the initial post and intent of this thread, but 29 pages later it still stays closer to topic than most do after several posts. Am i bothered? Not really.

music suggestions in general could be any band i suppose

Wow, not sure I can live up to that, but anyways...

Diorama - Cubed is pretty good (only really liked "Erase Me" of the earlier Diorama songs, but here I love the whole thing... ).

Same goes for X Marks the Pedwalk - Inner Zone Journey. Not been a huge fan of earlier X Marks the Pedwalk - but this album is pretty ace.

If you can get your hands on the track "Sex Monster" by Armageddon Dildos, that would be great. It's a better track than all their other stuff combined, but seems pretty hard to find nowadays.

oh, btw, do you want suggestions from the release lists of [Metropolis,Out of Line,Alpha Matrix, Dependent], or are they automatically on the shortlist anyway so it's a waste suggesting them?

UnterArt - Noise and Grace

It's insane that it's not on DG - it's like the prototype DG album

be aware that they've placed all the good songs at the end of the album.
My favourite is Wasteland.

It's a crime against nature that it's not on already...

I would love to see some Celldweller, great drum and bass among other stuff.  Off the self title I recommend Switchback & The Last Firstborn.  The Take it & Break it Remixes are great too for Frozen, Own Little World & Switchback.  All of Wish Upon a Blackstar, So, other singles - Birthright, Shapeshifter, & Erasus by Subkulture.  Along with this style how about the album In Silico by Pendulum.
Not fully sure if these are a style for DG but at least something to look into for electro none-the-less.

I suggest E Nomine.

Truely a unique band.  Many of their songs totally own.  Das Omen, Mitternacht, Das Tier in Mir, Vater Unser Part I and II, and I have a sweet mix of Schwarze Sonne that rocks the house.
Those are all great songs I would also add Deine Welt to that list.

Hocico got a new single out, "Dog Eat Dog" - it's just another couple of run-of-the-mills average
hocico songs, but useful for replacing some of the old with, for variation...

Also, HIV+ (a noise project) are sometimes melodic enough to qualify as EBM,
like Schäden (Obszon Geschopfs vocal mix)  (couldn't find any samples)

I think the albums from PainBastard could use an update. I'd like to have Borderline, Nictophobia, and No Need To Worry in the mix at any rate. You've got their first three albums now and I think the new ones are on the same label. Also, PainBastard has a really lovely MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/painbastard).

I'd also like to see more Leæther Strip such as the album After The Devastation. That's from the Alfa Matrix label so maybe you can't get that.

Those are my random suggestions for today. :-)

I rarely pay any attention to the lyrics so i guess i'll defer to your judgement.

I don't typically pay much attention to the lyrics either. Only because Lexus expressed his opinion did I really listen to what was being sung, and that particular song struck me as funny because of it.

Still, good musical content and great production quality.

Usually I dont listen or even understand the lyrics, but these where particular clear. They just reminded me of some angsty goth teenager trying to be all dark and dangerous in his songs. But hes just so blatantly obvious about his attempts of trying to do it, it just sounds very silly. And they are pretty cliché as well.

I mean a whole song about how hes gonna hunt down some sexy girl in a creepy forest with cliché lines like 'Im the hunter and you are my pray'. <_<

Ive gotta agree though, if his lyrics werent so bad I would have loved him. The music itself is very good and so is the sound quality.

The group "Any Questions?" sounds alot like older Front Line Assembly to me. Lots of industrial sounds and samples, songs about extinction and war, etc. I just stumbled on them today. Their tracks don't really stand out individually to me but I think they might be good to add to the mix.

Their albums are "Death", "Death (Special Edition)", "Mutation", and "Prey For Death (Special Edition)". Sense a theme? :-)

Their label is the Pennsylvania based Floating Fish Studios (http://www.floatingfish.com/) which was a hell of a lot easier to Google for than "Any Questions?".

I know that the Dawn of Ashes' album "The Crypt Injections" is part of the DG Database, but I am missing the song "Where Angels Die" from that album in the database. It's my personal favorite from that album, so it can't be -that- bad, right? :P

Please give it a listen and see if it can be added? Thanks.

After their "directional switch" towards Metal, they are apparently releasing their new album very soon. It will probably be excellent according to metal standards, but I will never get over the shock of them leaving the Industrial scene.

i own 2 of their albums and like them, but it sounds like blatantly standard EBM to me...

there's not much industrial being made anymore it seeems. everything's 4/4 beats anymore...

thankfullly the latest offfering from NITZER EBB is straight-up industrial, but yea...

i know that Shirow can't put on compilation albums due to technical difficulties, but i'd like to make some mentions that i consider worthy of thine ears....

From Electronic Saviors:

Notes From a War - Stromkern (a strong return)

Never Say Farewell - Interface (as good as their normal stuff played)

Solar Man - Chemlab (wow, i miss these guys)

Goodbye - Bow Ever Down (ne'er heard o them before, but i dig it)

Jim, Let Me Know When You Can Drink Again - The Gothsicles (holy FUCK, i can't even express to you how much i fucking LOVE this song!)

Things Unkind - 16 Volt (They don't get enough credit for the years they've been around - are they RIAA? Have to look it up...)

Malignancy [Pancreatis Mix] - Rein[forced] (never heard of them, but good tune)

Save Your Serpent [Light As A Feather Mix] - Ego Likeness (Not familiar with them, heard the name, like the song)

Rapture - Inure (New to me, but i like it)

Endure [Encoder Mix] - Cesium 137 (another good track)

Beat It, Kill It - The Dark Clan (another new one for me)

Search and Destroy [Savior Version] - Azoic (awesome)

Version2[Aesthetic Perfection Mix] - genCAB (again, never heard of them, but with this AE/P mix...)

Malignant Disco - Prometheus Burning (fucking awesome)

From A Wasteland To A Dream - I:scintilla (need i say anything?)

Giving In To The Change [Assemblage 23 Mix] - Imperative Reaction (you've heard it and love it; now love it new)

Fear Is Fear - Xuberx (again, never heard of them, but fuck me if this track don't make me want to run and run and run and destroy something evil!)

Into The Wind - Mindless Faith (i rarely paid attention to these guys before - much to mine regret - but this got me, right in the soul)

Breaking - Deathline Int'L (signature sound with the guitars....again, why aren't they on DG? Have to look up RIAA again)

Jim's Song - Encoder (you already know them from DG, so you'll love this)

Right Beside You [Save Me Now Mix] - Vicious Alliance (once again, new to me, but loving it)

Katharsis [Purification Mix] - Nachtmahr (instrumental madness!)

The Ones [genCAB Remix] - Aesthetic Perfection (AE/P has recently become one of my top 10 bands - not to sound like a bandiot - and this mix is pretty good)

Not Me - Dismantled (another good job)

The Scalpel Song [Neoplasm Edit] - Leatherstrip (fuckin love this man. He made the ash (ash is the word for the æ)in your face)

Sleeping Beauty - Mordacious (again, new for me and loving it)

Transmission - The Atomica Project (Very Trip-Hop; fucking love it)

Supermassive Gravity [Endanger Mix] - Massiv in Mensch (let me start by saying HOOOOOOLY FUUUUCK! That got your attention? Good. Now listen to this shite. i know a few years ago there was a quandry about how MiM was not e'en worthy of being on DG. i almost, kinda agreed, having only liked a few tracks off of Menschdefekt. But team this techno/rave-esque - whate'er the fuck you wanna call it - team with some Mind.In.The.Box. and i. am. fucking. slayed. i mean, i can't believe that a modern song has made it into my top 10 of all time. YES, it's that fucking good to me, especially when you can run 5 miles to it!)

Free [Interface Mix] - SD6 (i'm liking these guys more and more)

Survival - Nolongerhuman (another new one)

Alive - Debutante (new again)

Access Denied [Rotersand Mix] - Deviant UK (fukkin love the introduction of this to mine repertoire)

Duct Tape My Heart - Freezepop (Very 80s Pop; i love it)

Jim Made Cancer His Bitch - Caustic (i love to jump around and hit inanimate shite when i hear this...thank you G-Ma, thank you so much)

Visualization - Borderlines (These guys are the best off of the DL. And perhaps one of the best on all 5. Solid lyrics, solid sound. i fukkin love it

So these are just a sample. i love every track on Survivors. But you should definitely investigate for yourself......

Did i mention how good Suppermassive Gravity is? No? i'm sure i did, so let me reiterate...THIS SONG FUKKKKKKKING ROCKS. Now i'm sure that all key-ing aside, you get the message.

What i'm trying to say, Shirow, is that you definitely have to add this to the DG DB. i know that there are singles out there; hell, Amazon e'en has it for a buck.

So i'll give you the buck brutha if need be

Heh, the illusive "industrial" genre... :) - to be honest, it's best just forgetting about what
"true" industrial is, go with the flow and use it to describe most or all music that either is
or could be published by Metropolis, Alfa Matrix, Out of Line or Dependent.

Industrial was used first by Throbbing Gristle and their likes...  and trust me, Throbbing Gristle
sounds nothing like Nitzer Ebb... Throbbing Gristle also sounds nothing like the rest of the stuff
that is currently branded "industrial"...

Yeah :)

Actually, it's funny. The first "industrial"'ish thing I listened to was Apoptygma Berzerk, and that
was pretty catchy right away, while stuff like FLA and Front 242 was just boring random shit...
When I got used to those, I considered those hard industrial, and Skinny Puppy was just
boring random and cold experimental B-side material (cold because I started with "The Process").
When I got used to SP, EN and TG was just unlistenable noise (by then FLA and F242 was pretty
much plain EBM, almost synthpop). Then when I got used to EN and TG, Skinny Puppy is kinda
like regular pop music to me, FLA and 242 almost mainstream...  and now stuff like Wolf Eyes and
so is experimental noise to me (then again, Wolf Eyes and such actually are noise projects, so I guess
that might stick...). and the more I listen to stuff like Wolf Eyes and such, the more TG is plain mainstream music :)

so it's all in the (moving) eyes of the beholder... :)

btw, the funny thing with Einsturzende Neubauten is that they never intended to be
experimental when it came to instruments, but they were so poor that the drummer
had to sell his drums, so he borrowed and stole some tools that he used instead...
...and it went on from there...

yyyep.

y'know i've never thought any of those bands were "mainstream" by any means (insert a big raspberrry award to NIN here), however i do get what you are saying.

just to addd: i love WOLF EYES and many other extreme noise artists. i actuallly liked extreme noise the moment i heard it bakk in the early 90's. i grew up punk and this was prettty much as punk (or rebelllious) as one could seeemingly get with sound to me.

First of all, new Combichrist is out - there's been remarkable little fuzz about it (probably because Metropolis is lagging behind on the release date as usual)

Also just got HIV+ - We Are All Haunted Houses. HIV+ is generally more of a noise project, but this album has more accessible songs with a more EBM'ish direction. They are mostly instrumentals (some got vocals). Some of the instrumentals would fit really well into DG. I generally love the album, but haven't had that much time to listen to it yet. (this is a 2007 album, I just didn't discover it until now)

Drev - Failure. The song structure is a bit industrial rock'ish (you can clearly hear  some NiN influence), while the sound itself is more standard EBM/electronic. Also generally a really good album.

A couple of more:

Access Zero - Living in Transition

It's a pretty good EBM/futurepop'ish band. Some of the songs songs a bit like a softer Combichrist,
other songs are more synthpop'ish (not that far from a.e. Celsium 137).

Another new album that is out is Code 64 - Trialogue. I wouldn't have suggested the  previous Code 64 efforts, cause they're a tad too synthpop or spacepop or whatever you call synthpop inspired by star trek... but on the new albums they actually have a lot of pretty good tunes with plenty drive...

Both are on A Different Drum (a label I'm gonna follow closer from now on), I dunno how that label is when it comes to RIAA?

nolongerhuman - Antipathy

This sounds almost like a followup to Fractured - No Longer Human. Dunno if there is a connection,
but anyway, it's great.

It's a pretty standard Suicide Commando clone, but pretty good...

Hey I'm new here to the new generation of industrial and have  been listening diligently for the last few days and I like most of what I am hearing.  But when talking about Throbbing Gristle, 242, SP, FLA, Clock DVA and EN.  You may as well throw in Portion Control, Severed Heads, Test Department, Revolting Cocks, Legendary Pink Dots, Bauhouse, and so much other stuff that I and others have on vynil.  It was all so fukin different in such a cool new way.  I would love to hear 242's U Men live on here and much of the other early stuff that has had influence on todays generation on Industrial / Indepenmdat.  Its all good and even some of that stuff that seemed like just noise from the early days.  They each and all had ther own meanings to them, but the cold war was one of the leading reasons.  Born in XIXAX by Nina Hagen may not have been exactly classified as industrial.  But it was and still is damn cool.  Cheers to Industrial / Independant / Alternative...  Its the meaning of life.
And Ya with Neubauten at Expo 86.  We partied with those guys after that amazing show and I had a good chat with the steel tool drummer as I was building the gear for Skinny Puppy at the time.  What a cool night that was.

thankfullly the latest offfering from NITZER EBB is straight-up industrial, but yea...

Throbbing Gristle also sounds nothing like the rest of the stuff
that is currently branded "industrial"...

yea, i know... it's just that when i hear industrial, it usuallly means stufff that sounds like SP, FLA, NITZER, CLOCK DVA, etc.

the pioneeers (TG, EN, SPK, etc.) seeem to have beeen lumped into a subgenre callled "experimental" industrial or even "avante garde"...

genres... gottta love 'em. but i seriously would never classsify most EBM as industrial at alll. helll, it sounds more like techno than it does industrial imho.

don't get me wrong tho... i listen to alll of it and i enjoy it alll. i guesss we alll just have our own ways to classssify songs in our iTunes ;) :D

Its the meaning of life.
but when was DAWN OF ASHES ever "industrial"?

Revolting Cocks
Nocturnal Emissions
Ministry
Severed Heads
Tear Garden
Legendary Pink Dots
Besides Angelspit.  I am just reminising.  I like what you are doing here already.
Getting to learn more about this new generation of industrial is great.
And to go along with the reminising.  I just got in from my run and Joy Division still makes me move.

After hearing Seize.  I could not help but think of This Mortal Coil, Sixteen Days-Gathering Dust.
It has the Cocteau Twins in it and is really quite good.  Done in 1983.  Christ I'm getting old.  And then of coarse there is Liasons Dangerous.  To have that gear on vynil is pretty cool.

O9:30.  Hearing Seize again and liking it very much.  And the following tracks being in that area of what I used to call classical industrial.  This Mortal Coil or Section 25 was there.  Kinda like how I used to describe the Clash or DOA as classical punk.   Just some of my thoughts from an old boy.

I hope to hear this soon creepster.  That was / is what I have always really enjoyed.  Ambient/instrumental with an industrial edge.  But then anything with industrial roots is good for me.  It seems that the more mainstream listeners disslike or think to weird.  The more I like.

Some great new releases:

Die Sektor - Applied Structures of Void
Fractured - Beneath the Ashes (and why the hell ain't the previous Fractured (Only Human Remains) on dg?)
Wynardtage - A Flicker of Hope

also, both Hocico and Project Pitchfork has released remasters of their older material, so there's another chance to let some of those rotate a bit on DG... at least for Hocico the old stuff is way superior to the latest crap)

Fractured - Beneath the Ashes

I'm not usually into stuff where the guitars are too heavy or forward in the mix, but I agree the new Fractured is amazing.  They found a real nice balance where the guitars are powerful sounding without stealing the focus away from everything else in the song, and they use a lot of unconventional beats/sounds along with the guitars to keep the riffs from feeling too repetitive.

God, I must've had the chorus to "You Are" stuck in my head for 24 hours straight.  Awesome album.

Title: Re: Suggest some music!
Post by: Hunter J7 on April 23, 2011, 01:16:08 PM
Hey Djamnesia.  How far back can you go with old Ministry.  I have Twitch on vynil and it is a pretty damn cool piece of work.  I nearly killed myself on my mountain bike and was listening to Angels at the time.  It was real loud.  There was lots of blood.  But without a doubt.  It was my skateboard helmut that saved my life.  And the fact that there was no immediate traffic behind me when I jumped that driveway lip and found myself sideways in the air.  The roads are old here in St John's and that lip had a jagged chunk out of it.  Summer time with no shirt on thus the blood.  But my head was last to strike and the fiberglass chunk out of that helmut would have been my skull.  Had to replace the helmut.  Hard to replace a skull.
Anyways,  Ya some old Ministry would be kinda cool.
P.S  I was still listening to tapes off my old weatherproof walkman then.  And that was always the first thing to pick up after a crash.  Tape, batteries, put it back together, check my bike.  And then finally see what might be broken on me.  Ha Ha.
Your comment on old Ministry just hit that memory trigger switch.

New Decree out (FLA side project) - but might be too calm/ambient for DG

Necro Facility - Wintermute - it's fantastic...really catchy
(here's a link from the previous album - and the new one is even better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XAYm2ZH0V8)

Also, I discovered this band named DavaNtage. Don't know anything about it, only found
a 2CD named "Over The Pass / Dix Ans" marked as "Various Artists", but they're listed as
the artist on all the songs on the first CD... anyway, it's really really great...

I like Yade also.

Hey zeno.  Thanks for that update on Necro Facility.  It is a good sound and of coarse I like the cover arts that I saw on the utube page you had listed.
Wintermute has an interesting history where that word or name was first used.  And I think that Necro Facility does a good job in representing that history.

Thought I'd put in a plug for Helltrash.  Saw them live when they opened for another band a couple years ago and was pleasantly suprised and I'm still digging them.  My 2 favorites were from their digital release were I am the Enemy and Cannibal.

Note: I like a lot of grindy electric guitar in my music so it might not be for everyone.  There are some remixes out there featuring Combichrist, etc. that might fight the bill though.

I just discovered Schwefelgelb.

If not for DG, at least check them out. If you like the 8-bit sound, they make some use of it but not over the top.

Hey Drew you´re right Schwefelgelb is pretty cool - heard that "Welcome to my Pornoshow" thing?

Almost rolled off as i heard that one for the first time ...

If you like that 8-Bit Sound try the latest release by Eisenfunk (named 8-Bit anyway).

So Eisenfunk is missing too... :D

As it turns out, pornoshow was the song I found first.

I actually really like Eisenfunk's 8-bit album.

Mind.in.a.box also did a song titled 8-bits on their last album. It's still classic, well produced mind.in.a.box sound and not too much 8-bit sound in itself. I honestly think the song is about classic video games, more than anything. Here's a link to a video they did for the song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoGpLl-SUfk It's actually a fun video to watch.

I you really want to get into 8-bit music, look into chiptunes. There's some pretty wild stuff out there.

Hello to all.  I got back from Labrador last week and had my internet cut when I got back.  And the signal sucked up there.  Stream cutting in and out.  Well anyways I cought up on my bill yesterday and am reconnected with the sound coming from my amp.   Lets hope it stays that way.
Now lets get back to the point of this forum.  Suggest some music.  Just like the first generation of industrial music when I became fixated on it 25 years ago.  Some was crazy noise.  And some was the most stellar classical industrial music reigning over all other kinds of music in my mind.  I find very it very simalar with this new generation I am now learning about thanks to DG.  I have to go right now but when I come back I have something to request that I know will not be on the data base.  But it is so fukin good.  All who listen to Digital Gunfire should really know about this group from 1982.  Be back soon.

OK back again.  I was with my one industrial friend here in St John's the other night and she asked me about something really good from before.
I suggested Liasons Dangereous.  Los Ninos Del Parque.  We U tubed it and it was there.  That song has been considered,  considered as to the point of royalty for industrial music.  Check it out.  It really is amazing in both the vynil track and the live version with video.
Old Ministry was mentioned earlier in this forum.  I would have to say Twitch is one of the best with Ministry.
And then of coarse we can not dissmiss Portion Control.  Some of the earliest of where industrial came from.  The album Hit the Pulse has Death by Venom and Abbo Dabbo.  Tex Mex from the archives would rate up with the other 2 I mentioned.  And of coarse the Album, I Staggered Mentally is so totally industrial it makes one think in analog.
So much more that is not on the play list.
I could go on with more on this subject yet for the time.  I would love to hear back some thoughts on who ever reads this and checks out that Liasons Dangereous track.  los Ninos del parque.  Happy thoughts to what I mentioned and please dont take this wrong Shirow.  I just thought to mention some of the good old times.

Hey what's up guys. not really into blowing my own horn, but check out my music.. Perhaps it wouldn't act as a cog in your industrial music list..

Some things I've accomplished..
3rd Place - Violent Work of Art Remix competition
(my track is on their remix album for 'automated species'. If you haven't heard of VWOA, I would also    suggest them to digitalgunfire..) check out violentworkofart.com

Runner up - Chemlab remix competition for their track 'Binary Nation' on acidplanet.com
 http://www.acidplanet.com/contests/Chemlab/

And I have a track on the idmf netlabel release Concord

Here is an original track I made called Phobos
http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/10/6/2131954/1117_hellscion_phobos.mp3

And here's a few albums I made that were released on a few netlabels last year..

Hellscion - No Light to Guide me (industrial / ebm / techno) (http://dystopiaq.com/?p=116)

Hellscion - Rigid Reflection ( hardcore / industrial / gabber) (http://www.fature.net/release.php?id=65)

Oh and Headscan and Backandtotheleft

One more vote for Headscan, they have some really great songs. Their 2001 (already so long ago...) album Shaper and Mechanists is pure genius.

Wow right on.  I was just listening to Clock DVA this weekend.  And it just happens to be the very first industrial record I ever got that was given to me from a friend who did not like and understand what he had.  And that was a very long time ago.  I was listening to it as I am still trying to figure out how to transfer vynil to MP3.  And since I was to drunk to figure that out.  I was playing some of my real old vynil and DVA just happened to jump out of my collection.  Good to see that there are others who know Clock DVA.  cheers mate.

i bought Clock DVA's collective boxset lots of years ago and i got struck by his ethereal sounds - more dreamy than FLA or stuff like that - i think it's still ruday a quite unique artist, along with Daniel Myer's Haujobb. though - as you can see on my list - i'm more fan of harder and more disturbed things (Agonoize, Suicide Commando, Siva Six, Hocico etc. - and a great scottish band i've just discovered called Anowrexiya), i love dreamy soundscapes - be them electronic (Lustmord) or metal (Cult of Luna) or mixed (Drudkh)...
like to know you appreciate C DVA ;)
cheers

Dudes. that is right on, cool.
I am only familiar with the Clock DVA album I got when I was young.  The Album,  Thirst.  I sure would like to hear their stuff done after.  The other one I have that is quite unique is Second Layer.  World of Rubber.  Underneath the Glass and Definition of Hounour are a bit disturbing.   Then of coarse I have been getting access to Executive Slacks and the track Nausea with the video is absolutely crazy.
Cheers mates.  Here is to crazy.

This list of coarse came from my compulsive behaviore disorder comprising of material that is not possible to be aired here.
I dont mean to be rude or arrogent with this list.  However.  I am able to do a radio show at the Memorial University Station.  That will mean to transfer the vynil to MP3 or CD as the station is not set up with turn tables.  Dont ask why please as I dont know.
All I know is that it is my dream to do this under the stage name of DJ BLAST.  The name I used when spinning at the Industrial Eclipse in Vancouver a couple of decades ago.
It has been my hope to do this for quite some time now.  Yet untill recently.  Before discovering Digital Gunfire.  This show would not have been even close to being what it should be.  I will be purchasing the thousands of artists I have on my wish list when I finally do get the technology to transfere the vynil to digital signals.  And together with what I have from before and what I have been learning from DG.
I will then have the proper list of this genre of music from the early days of industrial, to the present with everything inbetween.
Another hope of mine that is closer to becoming real with the thanks of Digital Gunfire.

VNV nation have a new album which is ok.

Uberbyte have a new album called NFY - not heard it but saw them the other week in London and the tracks they played from it were really good. Hardcore Industrial and Moneyshot being particular standouts.

I second that person who mentioned Aesthetic Perfection have new material.

THE ANIX!

Bold and brilliant Dark Electro-Rock from L.A.! Their frontman is also the touring guitarist for Apoptygma Berzerk, and Stephan Groth plays guest keyboards on four tracks on their new album "Sleepwalker." Lots of diversity on the album, from harder stuff to lush, symphonic Electro-Goth and really kinetic New Wave style Synthpop!

Check out their video for "Glass" here:

What I'd like to hear more of
(or that are generally not played much, or too-limited selections, or not at all):

Life Cried
Panic Lift
Tactical Sekt
Amduscia ("Corpses Symphony" sucked me into this band)
Hocico
Mesh (some of their stuff is quite dark and powerful)
Edge of Dawn/Seabound/Ghost & Writer/whatever Frank Spinath is doing this week :)
Wolfsheim
Pail
Covenant (mainly their more serious/darker/later stuff, eg. "Bullet")
Beborn Beton

And One's rework of "Timekiller"

mind.in.a.box - "Lost Alone 2" (which is not the same song as "Lost Alone") - IMO their best work

Wumpscut -- I'm not fond of the noisy stuff, but really like the more classical-based (eg. "Thorns") which for some reason DGF never plays!

What's agreeable in limited doses

Frightdoll
Punky stuff like Left Spine Down (who despite being dreadful are strangely addictive)

What I'm bloody tired of

Stuff that's purely noise
Stuff that's pretty much nothing but samples
Combichrist
Those "you're listening to DGF" prefixes... cute once, quickly old.

What I'd rather never hear:

Anything that sounds like it wants to be crap or metal in its next life!!!
Angels & Agony - "Secrets" (generally I like their stuff, but this song sucks!)

Wish I had time to read this whole thread... who knows what I'm missing! :D

Welcomeness :)

It's interesting how stations each have their own character and focus. Frex, my two most-listened-to stations, DGF and Tormented -- I recently did a playlist comparison and found about 80% overlap in artists, but only about 20% overlap in songs by those artists. Makes for a different listening "personality".

some of the uk futurepunk stuff would be nice, action directe, caffeine kill, xykogen, spucktute etc. Specifically song wise spucktute's cover of "were all prostitutes" is awesome, as is their own "jeremy kyle nation" there's free downloads available at lineout records website.     caffeine kill's "better red than dead" would be class too.

I would welcome a review and a consideration to be added to your station. My entire first album is free to download at https://zephaniahharrington.bandcamp.com/

I'd like to propose the songs Powerstation Evacuation, Flotilla, or Lady Love Bug and but your welcome to add any that you think might fit.

Thanks for your time and consideration!

Anyone tell me what's happened to RIAA Radar?? I'd like to make a couple of suggestions, but I don't want to befoul myself so soon after joining (all my clean pants are in the wash).

I think I'm safe with Pulse State; only discovered them myself recently, and have now listened to everything they've released - 1000 times. They're probably well known in the U.S., but I'm a Brit. Think they're fairly DIY, don't think they'd have anything to do with the RIAA. If you don't know of them, think VNV Nation meets A23 meets Funker Vogt, meets AWESOME! Mike Phipps is one of the few guys, like Ronan Harris and Tom Shear who has the ability to regularly reduce me to a blubbering mess. If you've never heard of 'em, go to Bandcamp and check out 'The Science of Despair'; that, for me is as powerful an LP as VNV's Power & Glory or A23's Storm.

The other band I'm no so certain about is Syrian - most of the bands I like release via Alfa Matrix, Metropolis, WTII, or Infacted, so I think I'm PROBABLY safe.

Couple more, but I'd need to check out RIAA Radar first - IF it still exists.
