Name That Song! / Re: think i've heard this one on DG...

cheers guys, yeah, it's the X-RX tune. excellent knowledge. funnily enough, I was looking for it as a companion to the ivardensphere...
might not have been DG, could possibly have been a certain london club that always plays a DJ set that's all archetypal DG material...
anyway that's my fellow tube passengers annoyed in a fresh way for at least a week.

... but having some difficulty tracking down the name and artist. it's a tune with a repeated 'robotic' female vocal, "virus detected, system infected" or something very like that. sticking 'virus detected' into google ain't much help, obviously... any clues?

yeah, I'd assumed the 'bleeps' were a kind of comment on censorship, as well as a part of the beat of the tune. I was just wondering if there was an unbleeped version as the bleeps seem to be put on over the vocals... and tunes with crass sexual swearing amuse me. But it is fun to guess at what the XX are...

General Discussion / Re: Grendels new vocal style
« on: January 18, 2010, 06:15:31 AM »
just thought I'd throw my tuppence of whining into the ring on this one...
I've been thinking the same thing about the EP. Saw Grendel live soon after it came out, and was really glad they stuck to the old stuff in the set. While I agree with the comments on the vocal style, what also gets me are the lyrics themselves- 'three days on awake on a shitload of coke' seems to be just a description of what they were doing when writing these tracks, a twitter update not a song lyric. and 'harder faster louder'? erm, no, no it's not. Not a patch on the cyberpunkish imagery of their other stuff.
It's a bit disappointing. I was really into covenant and Apop a few years ago, until they did a 180 turn on their style. Now the same thing seems to be happening with my new favourites...
still, on the plus side it's an impetus to go out (or rather sit and listen to DG) and find new stuff...

Off Topic Discussion / God Module - EVP
« on: September 04, 2009, 07:24:41 AM »
I've been listening to this track for a while now (i admit, alone, late at night, with headphones) and noticed one of the samples repeated through the track. The most complete sample is a woman's voice saying 'Hello', followed by a 'ghostly' voice saying 'oh my god i'm in hell' or maybe 'who's out there?'. not getting into the 'truth about ghosts', i'm just wondering, does anyone know if GM used a 'real' EVP recording ( or just created it themselves, or took it from a film?

currently, i'd say either APB- bitch or suicide commando- menschenfresser.
no joke.

glad it wasn't just me. I was worried work IT police had blocked DG...

yup, that's the quote- so i guess it's from intellectually retarded by noisuf-x. little bit embarressed that the samples from moonstruck, though. not quite the same as the zombie movies sampled by suicide commando.... (well, actually...)
anyways, cheers for your help guys.

First off, Hi there all, been using DGF for a few months and it's perfect for disturbing my workmates with bleepy noises trickling out of my earphones.
But now I have a question- I heard a tune on here, i think last wednesday. it ended with (or possible repeated) a sample of a woman berating someone, something like "you're insecure, selfish", etc, etc. she goes on for quite a bit and finishes with (this is the only bit i can remember word-for-word, as it made me crack up) "...and you smell".
I thought it was either conspiracy with the devil or face of death (torment 01) by suicide commando, but having gone out and bought both, it doesn't seem to be either of those. I wonder if it's a different remix, or maybe something else entirely? I'd be grateful if anyone could let me know...
