General Discussion / DG still being maintained?
« on: November 23, 2015, 06:42:43 PM »
Shirow (or anyone else, really),

Is Digital Gunfire still being maintained? I ask because a number of songs seem to be missing their album info. Obviously, music is still playing... but is there any chance of us getting requests back?

I'd hate to see DG vanish into the archives of the interwebs.

Yeah, I need to fix that one of these days

Don't be crazy now. If you fixed all of this, then we'd hardly have anything to talk about.

Whether clicking an album cover or going into the database and clicking "Psy'Aviah" under the P entries: No albums show up.

You can always do like I did and just create your own website. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and while club- and event- starved we are not, the online presence was pretty abysmal for a place just north of Silicon Valley.

Websites can be free. A Meetup group I think runs about $75 a year last I checked and those can work pretty well also.

I'm in the East Bay. DG has spoiled me; I don't look that hard for live shows any more.

Well, if you do decide to look for a show or even just a club-night, keep SFGothic in mind. :)

I did stumble on Dismantled playing DNA Lounge on the club's live video stream a few weeks ago. The sound quality was atrocious.

I was at that show. They sounded much better in person. I'm not sure how DNA has their live-stream's sound set up, but that's what I'd chalk it up to.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys! It's nice to have a little support, even if it is from a distance.

Thanks for looking into it Simon!

Technical Support / Requests getting "Dropped"
« on: August 01, 2011, 02:21:00 PM »
So, it only happens occasionally (at least that I can verify, since sometimes requests take longer to happen than I can wait), but about 3 or 4 times in the last couple of months, I've had requests that drop off without the song ever playing and I'm out my "1 request for the day".

For example - today at around 12/12:30pm Pacific I requested "I Belong to You"  from Aesthetic Perfection. But within now it's 1:15pm and the request has vanished from my "queue" without ever playing.

I haven't left my computer this whole time (I'm illicitly listening from work and haven't left my desk) and I can see the last 5 songs that have played... no sign of my requested song.

I'm not sure if this is a known issue or not. It is a little frustrating, as I only get one request a day, and sometimes my requests just end up playing after I do have to leave my desk. So to have it disappear entirely just compounds the issue.

No love? Am I the only DG-listener in the entire San Francisco Bay Area?

Distorted Reality's The Fine Line Between Love and Hate album doesn't show up in the music database under Distorted Reality. Instead it shows under Distorted Memory's listing.

So, I'm mostly looking for contacts in the San Francisco Bay Area Gothic and Industrial community.

I've started a website ( in the hopes of providing a more updated look at the local scene, from Sacramento to San Jose, but there are crap-loads of things that I don't hear about.

For example, Ayria and Imperative Reaction were both out here about two months ago and it was only by random chance that I got a chance to see them - because it wasn't advertised anywhere except on the website of the club they were performing at.

Same with the Rammstein/Combichrist show back on 5/18.

Any feedback from fellow Goth/Industrial/Cyber/Futurepop/Whatevers out there about what they're doing with their spare time, where they're going, who they're going to see, all that sort of stuff. Let me know. Keep me in the loop!

Technical Support / Angels & Agony Albums not listing in DB
« on: October 28, 2010, 04:45:44 PM »
I can click on the "album cover", I can search with the search function, I can manually click "A"->"Angels & Agony", or I can click on the album name that shows up on the Playlist History. Any way I try it just goes to an album-less page, despite the fact that at least two different albums have come up on the station since I've been listening today.

Figured you'd want to know.

Thanks for the good work guys.
