just look at it for a while

http://producten.hema.nl/

OMFG! Ghettoblaster!  I have so many questions...
like what questions?

btw im working too much reading "hexan" ("hexane") into the screen name at first

)x

Well, I was very curious on how ghettoblaster become the norm on a Dutch Web site.  Wikipedia says that "ghettoblaster" originated in the US but became popular in the UK versus "boombox" in the US, so I can see how that would migrate across the channel - but all the same, it was quite surprising.  That's what made it so damn funny for me; it is now standard in my lexicon.  And I'm curious if it carries the same connotation now that it did in the 70's and 80's.  It made me curious about Dutch demographics, overall socio-economic status, etc...

Yeah, listening to it again I think I'd kinda have to agree.  I hadn't even considered anything they've produced emo, hence my surprise.

I happen to have that album in my car atm, apparently I've been ghettoblasting emo music and didn't know it!  :D

Reading up on the genre at my fav knowledge dump, it seems one "expert" on the subject claims that Pinkerton by Weezer "...became the most important emo album of the decade."
Full context: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emo

I recall listening to that album often.  Guess I was smitten early on.  (I hadn't really discovered Industrial/EBM or it's derivatives/precursors yet, although I mysteriously had a copy of Switchblade Symphony's Serpentine Gallery back then also).
